Term 3 GSV Update

Congratulations to all teams for the following outstanding results:

Junior Soccer- Runners Up
Junior Volleyball (Teams 1B - first, 2B - third)
Intermediate Badminton- Runners Up
Intermediate Volleyball (Team B)- Semi Finalists
Senior Volleyball- Runners Up

GSV Finals Night

This year fifteen students qualified for the GSV Finals Night on 10 September at Lakeside Drive.  Holly Nieuwenhuizen (Yr 9) participated in five events, Emily Hodder (Yr 12) and Jemma Rigoni in four events and Teah Wilson (Yr 7) in three events.  We look forward to sharing photographs from this event next term.

Teah Wilson 1st Shot Put
Holly Nieuwenhuizen 2nd Javelin, 1st 100m (DH), 1st 200m
Jemma Rigoni 3rd 100m (DH), 2nd 400m
4x100m (Year 9) relay team just missed 3rd place, finishing a close 4th 

Aeroschools Gold Coast

Siena College’s Aerobics Nationals team arrived back from the Gold Coast late last night with some excellent results. Each team participated in their own category depending on their age and difficulty level and their results are listed below:

1st - Level 4 Intermediate Group: Alannah McCarthy, Jessica Higgins, Olivia Kershaw, Ella Graham, Victoria Bennett
1st - Level 4 Senior Group: Sophia Bolton, Sarah Browne, Jemma Mueller, Grace Kim
2nd - Level 3 Senior Trio: Maddie Barr, Grace Hoy, Abbey Harford
2nd - Level 5 Senior Trio: Ella Gurry, Emma Highfield, Meg Curtin
3rd - Level 5 Intermediate Group: Tess Hayes, Heidi Rigon, Sophie Gazzola, Maddi Duff, Olivia Gibbin
3rd - Level 3 Intermediate Trio: Rachel Andrewartha, Grace Jobling, Sienna Erzetic-Nadalin
4th - Level 3 Intermediate Group: Mia Giannangelo, Lily McNidder, Ava Dickinson, Kiara Nikolovski, Zoe Kershaw, Maddy Howell.  These students were also were awarded an additional award for ‘personality, perseverance and presentation’.
5th - Level 5 Intermediate Trio: Maya Gurry, Justina Flunt, Jorgie Grant

To qualify for the Nationals was an excellent achievement but to then have every team finish in fifth position or higher (including 1st places) across all of Australia is outstanding.

Spring Aerochallenge

This event was held at MSAC last Sunday 8 September, with Aerodance (Sarah Murphy, Bella Fogg, Gabrielle Gibbin, Amber Wadia) finished third, a wonderful result.

Athletics Carnival

The College Interhouse Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday, 20 September at the Bill Sewart track in Burwood.

Care Monkey Permission

A reminder to parents to please ensure that you give permission for your daughter to participate in Term 4 GSV Sport via Caremonkey. Without permission we are unable to transport your daughter to an external venue. In addition, please ensure you email the sport department (sport@siena.vic.edu.au) of any notable sporting achievements your daughter is involved in outside of school so we can continue to recognise these girls.
