Career News

As we farewell the Class of 2019, it has been rewarding to reflect on the many career related activities that they have participated in.  Earlier this year the Year 12s were visited by all of the Victorian universities, private colleges and TAFE institutes. Different faculties were represented such as Science, Arts, Business, Law, Engineering, Art and Design, Performing Arts, Education, and Health.  The Australian Defence Force also presented a session on the many and varied roles that were available to women.

We have had guest speakers on gap year programs, advice on compiling folios for tertiary Art and Design courses, tips on auditions for tertiary Performing Arts courses and in the past week a very useful session on creating a LinkedIn profile and how to make a successful transition to university.

This week’s edition of Siena Career News details important dates for Year 12s, information on careers with Victoria Police, Maths bridging courses for university entry, extension studies options (such as completing a university level subject in Year 12) and information on a few upcoming exhibitions that may be of interest to students keen on filmmaking and engineering.
